Today we went to Saint Ann's Square in Manchester Town.We filmed quite a lot around this area,were Umar and Zainab would be walking down this street then half way through Kyle and Zainab would walk down this part could be edited in final cut pro with the dissolve tool which would show time passing. Also, the use of filters shows that the time passes by or the past flashing in front of Kyle's eyes of when he was happy etc.

We went to re-shoot the scenes that would take place in the park. One of the shots that we made sure to do was beginning of the video in which Kyle & Zainab would get into a heated argument which would end in them breaking up. We would film this scene several times but from different angles as to add a variety of shots and so that we can then go on to choose which one looked the best and would therefore be used in the video. We also did a couple of shots of Kyle & Zainab. This will be used as a way of showing that at one point they were happy together. We made sure to shoot the same scene again but instead of having Kyle we swapped for Umar. This will be to show that this is the current relationship and they are happy together but at the same time it will be reminding the viewer that she is just reenacting the same things that she used to do with Kyle, it is also not filtered because the past was in black and white.

Location Shots

The first picture is an image from the Manchester City Centre and is one of the locations of which we will be looking to film on. It is typically a very busy area which will be a good thing as it will hopefully make the music video better as it adds a degree of realism to it.

In the second image it shows features a park where will be shooting the scene in which Zainab walks towards Kyle and they begin to argue. This will set off the events of the rest of the video. This scene will reappear at different points as a flashback to show that despite her missing him she remembers what happened and why they did break up in the first place.

This following shot is an establishing shot where the scenes will be shot, in these scenes Kyle and Zainab will be singing the majority of their parts of the song. We made sure to film when the weather was more or less the same to ensure that there was no problems with continuity.

This is a shot of Kyle alone sitting on the bench waiting for Zainab. This is not long before she gets there and they start to argue with each other.

This is one of the potential locations we could use in our final video. In this scene we would be showing both Zainab and Umar sitting at the table, it will show Umar talking to her but she doesn't pay him any attention as she is too busy looking at her phone hoping that Kyle sends her a text message or phones her. It will finish with Umar having enough and then angrily storming off.

Finally, in this location we will attempt to show Kyle singing a part of the song but showing that he is now alone and how it has made him upset and miserable as he slowly swings himself back and forth, this supports the recurring theme of the video of being alone.
